Introduction :

Daclatasvir is distinguished as a first non structural viral protein NS5A inhibitor. It is a phosphoprotein that acts as leading role in hepatitis C multiplication.

The action produced by Daclatasvir, which inhibits the NS5A replication complex is not clearly known. But it is conclude that Daclatasvir prohibits viral RNA multiplication.

Indication :

Daclatasvir an anti viral medication, used to treat hepatitis C virus from replicating in the body. It is also used to treat genotype III chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) in adolescent without cirrhosis.

Daclatasvir not used separately, it should be combined with Sofosbuvir. Daclahep Tablet is used in combination form only, with other anti viral medications such as Sofosbuvir, interferon and ribavirin for the treatment of hepatitis C infection.

Usual dosage of Daclahep :

Commonly Daclatasvir is used in adolescents, usual dose is 60mg which is taken as orally at once daily for the period of 12 weeks.

Musculoskeletal :

• Myalgia
• arthralgia
• Back pain

GIT :

• Diarrhea, nausea
• Upper abdominal pain
• abdominal pain
• constipation, flatulence,gastro
• esophageal reflux disease
• dry mouth, vomiting
• elevated lipase

Liver problems :

• Increased ALT
• increased AST
• increased total bilirubin
• Hepatitis B reactivation

Signs of an allergic reactions: hives;

Difficult breathing;
Swelling of face lips, tongue, or throat.

Patient receiving both Daclatasvir with Sofosbuvir, they also take a amiodarone: These combination of medicines can cause fatal side effects on your heart.

Very slow heartbeats;
Chest pain,
Shortness of breath; or
a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out.

Confusion, memory problems; severe dizziness; weakness, tiredness; or general ill feeling.

Before going to start the treatment, if patient having the following conditions they must seek medical advice :

• liver problems and/or liver transplant heart problems
• taking any other prescription or non-prescription medicines
• pregnant or your partner is pregnant
• trying to become pregnant or your partner is trying to become pregnant
• Breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed

Precautions :

Caution should be taken while using Daclatasvir in patient having liver problems and any allergic conditions.

Pregnancy and lactation :

Usage of Daclatasvir in both pregnancy and lactation has not been established
